VEGAN GRAPEFRUIT AVOCADO SUSHI By @plantbased_ma VEGAN GRAPEFRUIT AVOCADO SUSHI

By @plantbased_matters
Recipe at plantbasedmatters.net

Have you tired incorporating fruits in sushi? While grapefruit isn't a traditional sushi ingredient, somehow it works.

It's chirashi style (deconstructed sushi) which makes it easy to prepare it---no rolling, no molding.

Sautéed Korean Radish By @plantbased_matters Dur Sautéed Korean Radish

By @plantbased_matters

During the winter months, I love playing with different radish variations. This time, I went Korean-style.

Simple ingredients like garlic, ginger, soy sauce, mirin, salt, gochugaru, and toasted sesame oil come together for something easy, cozy, and deeply satisfying.

Creamy Hummus By @plantbased_matters Find similar Creamy Hummus

Hummus is one of those easy, nutrient-dense meals that comes together in no time. While we already have a hummus recipe on the blog, this is a newer, revised version, and it's even creamier!

Made simply with organic chickpeas (soaked overnight with baking soda), one garlic clove, fresh lemon juice, water, olive oil, and of course, tahini. That’s it!

We know everyone has their own take on hummus, but if you don’t yet, this one’s a great place to start.

Vegan Junkie Burgers is the only place in South Florida where you can get house-made burgers from scratch, paired with house-made sauces, no shortcuts, no processed fake meats. Just a talented chef cooking from the heart.

Hands down, this is the best vegan burger spot in South Florida. Bar none.

Why am I saying this? Because the vegan food scene here is hanging on by a thread. Back in the day, we had over 25 fully vegan restaurants. Now? We’re down to just a small handful.

If we don’t show up and support these places when we can, we risk losing them completely. #supportlocal
Christopher’s Kitchen in Palm Beach Gardens, Flori Christopher’s Kitchen in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is one of our favorite vegan restaurants.

Everything is made to order, vegan, and incredibly satisfying. In our opinion, it’s a must-stop if you’re in the neighborhood.

Supporting local vegan restaurants is so important, otherwise, we risk losing them, just like so many we’ve seen close over the years.

Support local, and Happy New Year
Black Pepper Iced Latte By @plantbased_matters A Black Pepper Iced Latte
By @plantbased_matters

Akiko has been working non-stop for months. Since she’s the cook and I’m the cameraman, I mostly wait on her… because I can’t cook very well.

In the meantime, enjoy this black pepper iced latte.

Black pepper in an iced latte might sound strange at first, but trust me—it works beautifully. The subtle heat adds a lightly spicy, nutty depth that complements the coffee perfectly.

Be different. Be curious. Give it a try.
