French Toast with Bourbon Syrup By @plantbased_ma French Toast with Bourbon Syrup
By @plantbased_matters

Every once in a while, I crave a plate of French toast. We’ve been wanting to see that char with @vermicular_global pan, and wow… it did not disappoint.

We used a sourdough bread from @sprouts which gave it the perfect taste, and topped it all off with @sapjack.vt Bourbon Syrup. We highly recommend that Syrup.

We also used @califiafarms Almond milk which is Akiko’s go-to.

That crisp, charred sourdough paired with the rich warmth of the bourbon syrup? Absolute perfection.

Often, the best-tasting meals are those prepared with simple ingredients and minimum effort.

I use the @vermicular_global Oven-Safe Skillet (28cm Deep) for these. A high-quality frying pan is essential for drawing out the natural sugars in vegetables like Brussels sprouts and achieving that deep, smoky char we all love.

To seal in the flavor and ensure the centers are perfectly tender, I let them "self-steam" for a few minutes using the self-standing stainless-steel lid.

Counter space is precious when you're in the zone. We’ve all had those moments wishing for a spot to set a hot lid without taking up half the counter. This self-standing lid is honestly a total lifesaver while cooking. I love the pans, but this lid design is just as impressive!

Vermicular is currently running a promotion where you can get a complimentary lid with the purchase of any frying pan or oven-safe skillet. Link above!

For those who’ve been with us for a while, you know we only collaborate with brands and products we genuinely believe in and use in our everyday lives.

I’ve been using Vermicular for a couple of years now, and we even featured one of their pans in our Shoyu Maitake recipe reel a while back. Vermicular is a Japanese brand known for its high-quality cast iron cookware. Not only is this the world’s lightest cast iron pan, but it also has fast heat conduction and excellent retention which brings out the natural flavors of your ingredients.

If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day gift, Vermicular is currently running a special promotion offering a complimentary lid with the purchase of a Vermicular frying pan or oven skillet. What is so special about the lid is also self-standing, which makes it super practical. If you love cooking like we do, this pan really stands out.

VEGAN GRAPEFRUIT AVOCADO SUSHI By @plantbased_ma VEGAN GRAPEFRUIT AVOCADO SUSHI

By @plantbased_matters
Recipe at plantbasedmatters.net

Have you tired incorporating fruits in sushi? While grapefruit isn't a traditional sushi ingredient, somehow it works.

It's chirashi style (deconstructed sushi) which makes it easy to prepare it---no rolling, no molding.
